Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance, Debajehmujig Storytellers and the National Arts Centre: English Theatre invite you to attend
#STUDY/REPAST May 14th – 16th, 2015
The Study/Repast took place in Ontario at the Debajehmujig Creation Centre on Manitoulin Island May 14 – 16th, 2015.
The first stop was The Summit hosted by The Banff Centre featuring 12 Indigenous leaders speaking about the state of Indigenous performance.
The Study was a 10 day intensive exploration that will be opened up to artistic leaders on the final days called The Repast. Each day participants will focussed on diverse aspects of the plays, performance styles, and history of Indigenous performance.
Here are some Tweets with the hashtag #StudyRepast that represent our time together on Manitoulin Island:
A core company of 6 Indigenous performing artists and 9 Indigenous performance students worked with Indigenous performance specialists and other artists from the community to look back at where we began and inspire where we might go from here.
