Aboriginal Music Manitoba Inc. (AMM) is incorporated under the laws of Manitoba as a corporation without share capital (i.e., not-for-profit). | Vision: AMM is universally accepted as a leader in the development and growth of the Aboriginal music community. | Mission: The purpose of AMM is to present, promote and nurture Aboriginal music and culture in order to build audiences at the community level and beyond.
AMM produces the annual Aboriginal Music Week in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Aboriginal Music Week was launched in 2009 to develop Aboriginal youth as an audience for live music. The festival presents between 25 and 35 First Nation, Métis, Inuit, Native American, and Indigenous music acts each year. AMM has completed a number of other music projects, including “Take the Fort!,” a western Canada tour of Manitoba Métis music and dance for the 2009 Cultural Olympiad, the New Native Music Review for the 2010 Cultural Olympiad, and Aboriginal nominee honouring ceremonies at the 2006 and 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards.
