The Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society is comprised of a Board of Directors; a production team for the theatre production, headed up by our Artistic Director, Troy Emery Twigg; an Operations Group which includes our Executive Director, Michèle Stanners, administration staff and a contracted PR consultants. We also have a team of dedicated volunteers who facilitate heritage research and our education/outreach programs.
The mandate of the Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society is to bring to life the promise of Treaty 7 – using contemporary and traditional art and performance to tell inspiring stories that educate, entertain and forge relationships across cultures and generations.
This project has instigated artistic expression original in nature that contributes to the methodology this organization has developed and will now become a tool for other diverse communities: to build on, to expand and to utilize either as a departure point or as a foundation. The idea of bringing together a complex community of cultures in understanding or coexisting is arrived in the collaborations of the artists, many of whom have found their growth and articulated practice in this very project. We are currently seeking a younger generation who are now training, inspired by partaking in the project that we hope to continue with this funding.
